Installations

Placement

The fence layout is based on safety and how you use your pool and yard.

The Life Saver mesh pool fence is designed specifically to provide a barrier around swimming pools for toddlers, young children and animals. All access to the pool (360 degrees) must be blocked off from every direction.

We can install the fence at a minimum of 18 inches from the pool edge for walking and cleaning. The fence can be installed on any surface including, interlocking bricks, wood decking, paver stones and footings the ground.

Professional Installation

Prior to starting your fence installation we first chalk out the fence outline and gate locations for your approval, prior to installation.

1 1/8” diameter holes are core drill with a diamond bit into your cement. A 4” sleeve is placed into the holes. The holes are drilled at a slight engineered angle to create a tension when the fence is installed and hooked together.

This is the first fence we installed in the Fall of 2003 after my son, Taylor, fell into the pool. It looks as good now as it did the day we installed it. The fence is kept up all year around. It is only taken down is for removal and installation of the winter cover. Notice the toys and play area outside the pool area.

Typical Fence Installation

The installation for a Safety Fencing and a Self-Closing/Locking Gate takes approximately one day. The fence outline and gate locations are chalked for your approval prior to core drilling. 1-1/8” diameter holes are drilled with a diamond bit. A 4” plastic sleeve is placed into the holes. Some holes are drilled at a slight engineered angle to create a tension when the fence is installed and hooked together. The fence sections are 15’ in length with 6 or 7 poles per section. Most fences are kept up all year round.

The Self-Closing/Locking Gate is a critical component of the safety fence and highly recommended. It prevents open access to the pool. The gate works great and comes with keys so you control the pool.  A Safety turtle gate alarm is a wonderful safety option that is recommended for each gate. Without a reliable gate, safety can be compromised, and how else do you get into the pool area?

Careful thought was given to the layout of this fence. The adults have a tanning area near the gate where they can watch the children play safely outside the fence.

Over the past few years, the company has taken on many commercial projects.

A Family Services facility, pictured on the right, selected Chicago Pool Fence & Rail to keep children in a play area and prevent them from  climbing on existing railing.
